In europe I had never heard of any ghost stories but when I moved to Japan there it was a common thing! One story my friend told me was when he was lying under this Japanese table that has heating inside and where you can put your legs, called kotatsu. He was in the dark alone watching TV and suddenly an extremely old woman came out from beneath the table and stated to crawl up his body. Luckily he managed to shake the woman off and he just ran outside far from the house. He was totally shocked and just waited outside until his parents came back home and together went back inside. The woman was gone.

I’ve yet to meet any ghosts. Once I stayed overnight at a friends apartment in Tokyo which had a cheap rent because the ghost of a young teenage girl was living there. In the middle of the night I had to go to the bathroom and was scared as hell, luckily nothing happened. To my friend however who lived her, once a ghost took over her body and she was just laying in her bed for hours unable to move. Another thing that I’ve heard happens sometimes there.
